Start by creating a new folder (directory) called "Download" on you Windows desktop. This will ensure that you can find the downloaded file on your computer once the download is complete.

Right click on your desktop and select New > Folder. When a folder entitled "New Folder" is created, rename it "Download".

The "Download Now" link is located the right side of the description of the file on the downloads page. That is where you must click to begin downloading.

Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Communicator, Opera, and other browsers work in similar ways. After you click the Download Now button, a small window will open and ask you, "What would you like to do with this file?" or something similar. Simply click on the "Save it to disk" or "Save" choice, and then click OK.

When the familiar "Save As" window appears, use it to navigate to your newly created "Download" folder and click "Save."

Watch and wait until the file has finished downloading.

Possible Problems:
Some older versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer may require that you right-click on "Download Now," and select "Save Target As" to be able to begin the process described above.

Note: Various factors can affect the downloading process, you may not get a response for a long time, or won't connect at all. This is common on the internet and certainly shouldn't put you off. If this happens, just try again immediately, or in a little while.

What to do with the downloaded '.exe' file

The .exe files that you download are ready to be run, double click on the file to activate the installation procedure.
Read all on screen prompts carefully and click next when you are done.

Should you be installing The CompuChem Manufacturer V.6. (c6setup.exe), the following points should be considered:

• Do not change the destination folder unless you have some reason to do so and be sure to make a note of it.
• A careful, step by step process should be adhered to and will certainly avoid frustration later.
• The installation program will explain what it is doing at each step, read the onscreen prompts and make sure you understand them.

After accepting 'next' on the 'start installation' screen the program will be installed.

You can now run CompuChem V6 by selecting:
'Start / Programs/ CompuChem V6/ CompuChem Manufacturer V6.'
